A thought to carry into the week
God had not abandoned Jonah, and Jonah’s failure had not stopped God from working. When we recognize that we are moving away from God’s direction, we can turn toward Him in trust and obedience.
For personal reflection
- Is there something God is asking me to do that I have been avoiding?
- How might my choices be affecting others?
- Do my actions reflect the faith I profess?
- What step of obedience can I take this week?
Prayer
Lord, help us recognize the places where we are resisting Your direction. Give us honest hearts, concern for those affected by our choices, and courage to obey You. Thank You for pursuing us with patience and mercy. Amen.
