Have you ever tried to run from God?
Maybe God was asking you to do something you didn't want to do.
Maybe He was leading you somewhere you didn't want to go. Or maybe, like Johan, you knew exactly what God wanted-and you simply decided to go the other direction.
That 's where the story of Jonah begins.
God said, "Go."
Jonah said "NO"
And he ran.
Most of us know about Jonah and the great fish. But the fish isn't really the heart of this story. Jonah is the story of a God who pursues a runaway, hears a desperate prayer, gives a second chance , and extends mercy to people others have given up on.
And somewhere in Jonah's story, I believe we may see a little of ourselves.
Over the next few weeks, we're going to walk through this remarkable little book ands discover a very big truth:
